Together with our shoppers, we questioned the perimeters of our food system in a place where many vegetables find their pre-cultivated and salt loving origins: the tidal zone. The Interspecies Supermarket consisted of two aisles. In the fresh produce aisle, you can browse a new assortment of hybrid organisms that combine salty sea-thinking with sweet land-thinking. In the refrigerated aisle, we ask you to select from an assortment of glass bottles, gathered from what the sea has given back to us in recent months.
